If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it's a damn duck. This smacks of "state TV" and I've thought CNN was Fox-lite for a while now. It's just going to get worse.

I think your post today is spot on. I was thinking about this as I watched CNBC this morning. Besides all the important points you bring up I would add another thing. The acceptance in corporate America and Media, that the US Government is now dictating how companies must act. Not in service as in the past, by regulation to protect consumers, or for example the public from pollution or toxic chemicals in our homes and food, but rather in service to a regime. Who will pick the winners and losers based upon his perceived goals. I suspect Netflix was told that Carr and the FCC would not approve the deal. They also told Warner. Ellison was told the field was his but must fire certain CNN hosts. This is Orban on steroids. The capitulation of corporate America - the so called free enterprise stalwarts- is clearly telegraphing that capitalism as previously was practiced in America - is all but over.

Universities, White Shoe Law firms and corporate America are now under the thumb of the Regime

The sheep may soon be so overwhelmed by the destruction of their pasture that they will break through the fence, not only to find new pastures - but to trample their oppressive shepards.

Ray Dale wrote a book in during COVID - talking about 250 year empires and their fall through out history

I hope not

I am devastated that the Ellison family will be at the helm of the company owning CNN. This network has been a staple in our house since its inception. We watched the first Iraq war and the breathless reports from Wolf Blitzer and Bernard Shaw, along with Peter Arnett in Baghdad. As a stay-at-home mom then, I had it on all day as background noise, tuning in when breaking events happened. The Branch Davidian debacle, the Oklahoma City bombing, and Aaron Brown on 9/11. And now, this once trusted, great network will become another debilitated news outlet with the same pronounced rightward slant that Bari Weiss has foisted on CBS, or as Jeff Bezos has done to the formerly renowned Washington Post. Thank heavens for our independent media, here and elsewhere, but I will be hard-pressed to continue some paid subscriptions as life gets more expensive under this regime.

They’re gonna put Bari in charge of CNN too

Oh, no doubt. They won't realize how atrocious her judgement is until both networks have tanked.

I think the goal is keep as many people uninformed as possible.

Uninformed or misinformed

In a world where every day I think "It couldn't get worse...", well, it just got worse.

with this fascist regime, if we think something is maybe off it’s definitely off. Things will escalate now because the King is deep into madness and Stephen and Peter and the others need to push a wannabe out there. Vance wants to be so badly he will eagerly start talking like a democratic socialist.

Lisa Knowles, meet you there's avatar

I think we can get Vance to flip. Offer him enough money and fame and he will cave to the popular team. Then, we can boot him.

Very dodgy!!

Of course they did! They are losing and are trying to harness all the control they can!

Was the head ram appointed to the Board? Hmmm. I’m still wondering why our elected representatives and senators are standing by slack jawed. I thought we were on the side of conglomerate busting.
